So in the past two weeks ( kinda why I've been so busy) we have been out of town visiting GotKube's family. He is very luck to have all his family very close to home. Most of them are here in Alberta, where mine are all over the place... from BC to Ontario to Quebec and even over in Scotland and England. So I find him very luck to have them so close. He has always been close with his family. Well with the wedding now 9 month behind us.... yes it's been 9 months.... I can't believe that.... and the power of Facebook... we have really reconnected to his cousins that live like 45 minutes away, Chad and Nichole. So we went up to visit them and their 6 month baby girl Amika.
It was really nice to get out of the city first of all... second it was nice to see Amika.... she is so cute..... it was a great day for a
drive through the prairies of Alberta..... and it was really nice to spend some time with Chad and Nicole and reconnect with them. It was so much fun. We had a BBQ... we sat outside on the beach ( not really they have no landscaping done in their back yard yet and it is just sand.... so it looks like they have a beach front property in the middle of the prairies) had some really great conversation....played with Amika.... and just had an awesome time. We even made the trip up there on Sunday again just to see them again. I know it won't be out last trip. We talk to them daily now.
The last weekend we took a trip in the opposite direction and when down to Lethbridge for GotKube's cousins High School Grad BBQ. This time
BadFrek and
Lil Pink Frogs joined the fun.
We got to see the rest of the family. ( This side of the family is Gotkube's moms side) There was lost of food, laughs, cake.... really good cake and a lot of catching up. Yeah the wedding was only 9 month ago, but so much happen in such little time. And at the wedding we really didn't get to spend an quality time with everyone.
So after an afternoon with the family, we ended up driving one of GotKubes cosines, Ginny, back to Calgary with us. That was really fun. We had a lot of good conversation and it was really nice for GotKube. We had come to the realization after the weekend when we were clean our place that Danica's Graduation was almost 10 years to the day that he graduated high school. So that was really great for him. It's funny how time moves on....yet it feels like it is standing still.
